Beyond the Hunter’s Gate 

A meeting of old and new approaches and engagements with voice and bass viol. Myfanwy unearths the tumbrel potential of the bass viol and Emma will unleash her extensive vocal palette. 

Emma Bathgate and Myfanwy Hunter together are a sonic force transporting listeners from the guttural, through the corporeal to the ethereal. This duo bring their background in early music, classical, opera and improvisation into experimental terrains, opening a momentary portal into their combined sound world. 

Myfanwy Hunter - Musician, Sound & Visual Artist. Myfanwy works with viola, bass viol, bass, vocal adaptors and sound generators to create immersive interactive sound works. Myfanwy works across early music, Baroque, Classical and new music forms.
